felt funnies
A haberdashery store in Joburg recently had a sale on craft goods, and I got a fantastic little pile of bright, fun felt squares - perfect for small felt creatures and goodies! While I was laying out the colours though, someone else decided they were perfect too...

The neighbour's cat has started to come and visit, and for a while there, we thought it might be a friend of Vegas'. But now we know better - it's there for one thing, and one thing only...

A while back we bought kitty her very own house. Her very own ski lodge in fact. Yes, we're *those* people, but I've already blogged all about that horrible discovery.
For some time, kitty stopped using her house. It lost its novelty. It smelt funny. Whatever. Who knows what makes cats choose where they do or don't sleep. Now though, house is back in vogue. But not being used quite as it was intended...

I've become one of *those*... Yes, my cat now has her own home - a Swiss ski cabin no less. It has little windows on the side, a chimney, its own porch and a tree. She adores this new hidey-hole just for her, and sits on the porch to watch us getting ready in the morning.
But yes, bottom line is I bought my cat one of those pamper items reserved for the pets of Hollywood starlets and childless matrons. Argh!
It does look a lot better in our room than the old bed though... That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :)

lolcats
I haven't always been a cat person. In fact, I haven't really been a pet person. Since Russia and Vegas though, cats hold hours of entertainment for me - if only they would stick around that long :)
And worse still, I recently started browsing LOLcats! Not just looking at ones forwarded me by friends, but I've actually downloaded the app on to my iPhone that pages through a huge selection of LOLcats. And yes, I've added some to my "favourites". I'm not sure what this says about me. I haven't decided yet. But I fear I'm on a slippery slope...
And worse still, I recently started browsing LOLcats! Not just looking at ones forwarded me by friends, but I've actually downloaded the app on to my iPhone that pages through a huge selection of LOLcats. And yes, I've added some to my "favourites". I'm not sure what this says about me. I haven't decided yet. But I fear I'm on a slippery slope...

i have an alessi cat
Although russia is suddenly the big kitty in the house, it doesn't stop him from reliving his kitten days from time to time. He's playing on my study floor in one of the bags we brought back from New York - with an alessi cat bowl in it.
